A Little Note to Welcome You
Fr. Bill Quinlivan, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Tonawanda, NY, has always had music in his heart. As a child he sang at school and with his family, as a young adult in high school and college, and now in his ministry as a priest.
His first CD, Paintbrush in the Green was released in 2006. Fr. Bill’s Christmas CD—Blanket of Stars—was released in December 2007.

New CD: LIVES OF PRAISE
Fr. Bill is happy to release his latest CD, entitled “Lives of Praise.”
LIVES OF PRAISE is my fourth CD. After two collections themed (priesthood, Christmas) I’ve gathered ten songs that were written and sung for various occasions over the years since PAINTBRUSH IN THE GREEN came out in in 2006. I’ve often said that doing the first CD I wondered whether it would be my only one, so I jammed about 16 songs on it!
Now, LIVES OF PRAISE includes the title song, which I’ve been singing in the Worship Tent at the Kingdom Bound festival for several years, another up-beat praise song called WE WILL REJOICE, and a Gospel-tinged song I conceived as one to be used at the end of Sunday Mass, a sending forth called (We’re) GOIN’ OUT. My sense of humor found its way into this project with my first (and perhaps....only) disco/dance song called SUNDAY MORNING FEVER!
The most personal song on the collection is the one I wrote for my mother’s funeral homily in 2008, called THERE’S A HOME. Because I usually celebrate Mass every August at the Buffalo Irish Center for the feast of Our Lady of Knock, I challenged myself to write another song about that apparition. It’s called NO RAINDROP TOUCHED THE GROUND. My friend Heather Schieder and I recorded a duet of a song our dear departed Wendy Marks wrote, called ALL I EVER WANTED. Ironically, the song was written in the past tense a short time before Wendy would suddenly be called to the Lord in the year 2000.
When people ask what the “theme” of this project is, I simply say “songs I’ve written and sung, and not had the time to record...until now!!”
